You can tune in to Double J in your car, at work, in your home, while commuting, at the gym – anywhere in the world!
Double J is a digital radio station, which means that we don't live on the regular radio dial.
Tuning in to our station might feel a little confusing, especially if you're in an area that doesn't receive DAB+ yet.
But, no matter where you are in Australia (or the world), there's a way you can listen to Double J. And it's easy!
On your DAB+ radio
This is a really simple method, but it relies on two things:
- You are in an area that receives DAB+ reception (you can check that here)
- You have a DAB+ radio
If you tick both those boxes, you're practically there already. Plug in your radio, scan for stations, and we'll appear!
It's important to note that not all radio with digital displays are 'digital radios'. If you're shopping for a digital radio, make sure that it is a DAB+ radio.
There are plenty on the market, starting from around 20 or 30 bucks and going up into the hundreds.
If you're in one of the areas that receives DAB+, you will have instant access to tons of new stations, not just Double J.
On your phone
There are so many ways to listen to Double J on your phone.
We recommend listening through theexcellent ABC listen app, which gives you access to any ABC station, including us.
There's also the triple j app. It's easy to use, you can seamlessly jump between us and our sister stations, and save your favourite songs.
Both the triple j and ABC listen apps allow you to listen back to your favourite shows on demand as well.
We are also available on other radio apps like TuneIn and iHeartRadio if you prefer to do your listening that way.
If you want to hear us in the car, and you don't have a DAB+ car radio, your phone is your best method. More on that right now.
In your car
You can have a DAB+ radio installed in your car. Again, the prices vary, but you can expect to pay a couple of hundred bucks.
That's not going to suit everyone. It mightn't work with your budget, or you might be outside of the major centres and in an area doesn't receive DAB+ signal.
But there are options!
Bluetooth:
If you have a smart phone – iPhone or Android – it most likely has Bluetooth. If your car radio also has Bluetooth connectivity, you can essentially beam the station from your phone to your car radio.
If you're unsure if your car radio is Bluetooth enabled, scroll through the options on the radio. If you're still not sure, Google the model number (if you have it) or the make and model of your car. The information should be quite easy to find.
But what if I don't have Bluetooth?
Rest easy! There are still options!
A Bluetooth receiver might be a good investment. You plug it into your existing stereo and it allows you to connect your phone to that stereo's speakers wirelessly. It just takes a few clicks and you're off and running.
The other option is a good old-fashioned aux cable. They retail for a few bucks and can be found just about everywhere these days. You just plug one end into your stereo, the other end into your phone (or whatever device you're using to stream Double J) and you'll hear us loud and clear.
On your TV
We find a lot of people use this option, as it's probably the most straightforward and won't require too much effort.
Double J broadcasts on Channel 200 on all free to air digital televisions in Australia.
If you have a Foxtel box, you might find us on channel 884.

On your computer
This one is easy, but only convenient if you're near a computer that's connected to the internet.
If you scroll to the top of this page, you'll see a red rectangle with the words LISTEN LIVE written inside.
Clicking on that will reveal a pop out player, where you can play the station and see the songs that are currently playing, and those that have been played recently.

Through your Smart Speaker
Alexa, Siri, Google… we don't care who you spend your time with. But we think you should know that they are the key to a happier future as a Double J listener.
